Forget about empowering women, there's something essential upfront before that!
Still there female foetuses that undergo a negative reaction on the father's face. Few go through to get aborted. And yet if it survives, it plays the role of a daughter, sister, daughter in law, mother, mother in law and on and on. Throughout these phases, she's under the control of men. Of course, men have roles too, as a brother, son, father, father in law and on.
Before we think about education, empowering women and raising them to statuses such as Arundathi Bhattacharya, Indira Nooyi, Kalpana Chawla, every man in every family needs to raise up and stand up for the primary concern, safety!
If only every man could stand up to give that safety, education and empowerment will fall in automatically.
