New Year Goals

Every year there's a lot of resolutions that are taken. Taken, and less considered in a week and forgotten in a month. Does any of you remember what you had resolved 5 years back? Forget that, can you recall what you had resolved for 2015? (LOL).

Well, most people think of resolutions that are for the sake of having a conversation with their friends. I had already written about worthy resolutions few years back. But rather than taking resolutions and forgetting them in few weeks (read as days). It's better to have goals.

Goals make us achieve them. Google for what are SMART goals and try to focus on acquiring a new skill. Focus on having a Learning Goal instead of a resolution. There's one skill that when one master, can help you acquire several other skills in parallel.

One master skill that helps you focus on several areas of improvement. Learn to cook by the end of 2016 and you'd be mastering several other skills as you learn how to cook.

Cooking comprises of Planning, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Process Management, Motivation, & the most important of all Time Management. Did I miss any? What more will you need to have improved by the Year End of 2016? The most important aspect beyond donning all these skills is the sheer ability to be a self-dependent, free and independent person.

Managing self is the best way to manage and adapt to change, lead and execute.
